Some Newbie Questions
Hey everybody! Hoping a few of you out there can help me out. I have a 2005
CTD and have a few questions. 1 Can anyone reccommend a cheap code reader so I can stop going the dealer for every "check engine" code that comes up. 2 How about an engine manual? is the Dodge manual the one to buy? 3 What are the most prominent engine code issues, ie: does the fuel cap actually set off a engine light? Thanks to all in advance! |
A cheap code reader? Preferably one that can clear codes and add power at the same time. I'd post one, but it would be advertising. Engine/truck manual, do a Dodge one. Be ready to spend a few bucks on it. And no, the fuel cap will not trip a code. Welcome to DTR and please, post a pic or two when you get the chance.

Kidding on the power adder part. Parts store will carry a few universal ones. Be sure to get one that reads and clears them.

Cheapest code reader: key-on-key-off, repeat 3x, end with key on Code is displayed in the odometer
