injectors, when did you fill up last?

t-boe 05-06-2008 09:22 PM

What codes popped up? Could be the boost sensor.

Tank_66 05-07-2008 07:14 AM

I fuelled up the day that it happened after work codes were 513 and 483 incorrect imobilizer key what ever that is and 513 is cooling fan over speed

Secondrate 05-07-2008 07:24 AM

i also get that fan speed code and mine seems to besmoking more than usual
p.s.there is no chip on mine just all the other stuff

Injectors.

My 04 was doing the same thing. Pulled the MAP sensor and washed it down with Brakleen. Problem solved.

Welllll... took the ol girl in today for the smoke and such and guy at squealership says I have one maybe two injector failures and bad compression on one cylinder so I guess I will be with out a truck for a while by the sounds of things... sounds like there gunna pull the head off today and see whats in there... then tear the motor out I imagine to get at the piston or am I wrong any one else had this fun before... 100168KM on her right now... low milage for this to be happening if you ask me...

Reb.B 05-15-2008 09:01 AM

low mileage to hurt the motor but common on injectors. You might have hurt the pistons when the injectors were failing. I would change injectors before pulling head. Some 04.5 and above motors were built too tight from the factory and won't take the added heat we throw at them. Piston will grab cylinder wall and hurt the bore and then cause blow by. I've personnally seen motors assembled at .00375 clearance between piston and cylinder wall. It should be .005-.00625 clearance. I set my motors at .007-.00725.
