small shudder when turning ignition off
 

5.9L works fine in all respects, gets rave review from diesel shop. They say it has had some minor retuning. When turning the ignition off, there is a slight whump shake? Has anyone else encountered this?

If my memory serves me correctly, when the 3rd generation of Rams first came out that there was one or two threads with similar questions. Agian, if memory serves me correctly, the consensus was that this was normal for the 5.9 Cummins.

There is alot of compression in the engine and it stops suddenly. That in turn causes all of the accessory drive to stop slightly later giving you the little thump, a belt chirp and a shake.

My 2005 does this sometimes,,,, seems good to go. (original everything on engine)
