Question "Slapper" type traction bars.

Okay alot of talk here lately about traction/ladder bars.

I have experienced wheel up trying to drive up my driveway in 6 inches of fresh snow...

Has anybody tried the old "Slapper" style traction bars that are simply clamped onto the underneath of the leaf spring pack that have the rubber bumper on them?

Just curious as these seem to be inexpensive and maybe worth a try...

I thought slapper bars would only work if the spring were under the axel. These trucks also have an overload spring under the leaf spring, so I'm not sure a slapper bar could work unless it were specifically designed for our trucks.

Don't they also work moving forward only? Hop in reverse has been more of a problem for me....
