Should I be worried about this thing ...

... or is it something that should just be zip-tied and forgotten?

Found this tube hanging underneath my truck and I haven't been able to find out what in the world it is.

This is where it connects to the tranny (or transfer case, I guess)

And this is what it's end looks like

Not sure what it is and whether I should be worried about it.

Couldn't find anywhere that it should be connected to or anything either.

Is a breather tub. Tie it up and forget it.

If you ever think you may do some deep water fording put an extension on all your breathers and run them up high into the engine compartment. This is a commonly done thing on most 4 wheeling rigs.

I believe it is supposed to go up to a bracket held by one of the transmission to engine adapter/bell housing bolts. I think the top one on the passenger side.
