Serp Belt - Need Suggestions

Have a drive squeak. Chased it down to the top pulley. Replaced ALL pulleys and put a gates HD belt on. Drive squeak came back a few weeks later. Shot water and noise would go away for a minute. Used the old method of a little wd-40 and noise went away for a few months. I've since tried several things to make the drive squeak go away. Now the belt is slipping when cold or under hard load.

Going to start new with another gates HD belt. Need to get the chemical cocktail off of the pulleys.

I assume degrease each pulley and wire brush??? It's been suggested to use steel wool or sandpaper during degreasing and then follow up with brake cleaner.

I don't mind the shut down squeak. It's the drive squeak that bothers me.

TIA

Have u serviced the a/c system could be over serviced, wash belt with soap and water then rinse off with water it should dry itself, try with a/c off and defrost off, as the compressor runs in defrost even with the a/c system light off.

Sprinkle some talcum powder on the belt. Had many new belts squeak.

I'll try the suggestions.

AC hasn't been touched this year.

I just did the belt change at 107,567 due to the tensioner/fan/water pump pulleys having a very thick hard rubber coating that came from the belt it appears, anyway after a lot of scraping and then wire wheeled each pulley belt is on and no more Cummins squeak when I shut down the engine. I purchase my belt from Napa but was told it is a Gates product, just not branded as such. Anyone else seen this build up on the pulleys? I do not remember it on my other Dodges. Tom
