Salvage Vehicle Warranty?

I bought a 2003 2500 CTD with a salvage title that I am rebuiding. This truck was wrecked not flooded or on fire. It has 80,000 miles on it and needs a new turbo. Is the warranty voided?

I looked on the Dodge website and answered my own question. YES the warranty is voided! I would think if only the body was damaged they would still stand by the drivetrain. I'm not mad I knew what I was buying I just was not sure.

Anytime you buy a salvaged, branded title vehicle the warranty is null and void, nothing, nada, zilch, even emission items. The only thing that will be done free of charge, are recalls.

Salvage vehicles no longer have to have the waranty honored. I also noticed that few in surance co's will write a policy on them, and even fewer banks will finance one.

Depending on the reason for the salvage title you may be able to have it reinstated. A buddy of mine bought a 2002 Tahoe (in 04) with a slavage title; truck had been stolen then recovered after insurance claim made. He had the vehicle certified through GM and the title was cleared, which reinstated his warranty. This was in AZ.

In VA, a vehicle can be salvage-titled and repaired (via inspection); the title changes to "repaired", but the warranty is still void.

I've owned salvage titled vehicles, while it was out of factory warranty I purchased the vehicle from a dealer who gave me a third party warranty, I had no problem what so ever financng the vehicle or insuring it. I would also say that I had zero issues with the vehicle related to being in a wreck.

In my jurisdiction the vehicle had to undergo a frame inspection etc to be able to be retitled... as well as the regular emmission testing etc.
