Rust rant!

I still own my 05 and as most know the 05 has the worst problem with rust around the bed wheel wells.
Now I have to replace my upper transmission cooling line because it has rusted through! ($160.00 from local Dodge ***********)
Last fall I had to remove the cooler line coming from the tranny because it had rusted through. (That line was a Diesel Manor line with the "T" on it for my tranny temp sending unit) I replaced that line with my stock line for now.

Rant over........ for now!

Anybody else want to add in on rusting parts of our beloved CTD Rams?

I'm pretty sure they have aftermarket lines for 1/3 the cost of OEM, will probably last longer too.

It seems that Dodge put some sort of insulation/product in between the bed skin and the inner wall, what holds moisture and lends to rust in the wheel wells. Dodge isn't the only manufacturer that hasn't cured the rust problem- they all develop it, whenever moisture can't get out. Look at the Toyota frames- I'd rather deal with body parts.
It probably doesn't help that you live up north. That is probably your biggest single culprit.

I am with you on the rant, My 06 oil pan has huge rust spots all over it, my shortest transmission line leaked due to the line rusting through. Truck was 4 years old and the r/r fender developed rust.

Sorry my post was meant to be tongue in cheek, as we here in Arizona don't ever deal with the concept of rust. We often use the term "sun-baked" or "sun-rotted" though..
