Ring and Pinion Gear change

Has anyone changed to a 3.42 gear ratio, and what effects did it have on mileage and shift points? Don't normally tow heavy and thought it would help out on mileage. Anyone have any thoughts?

It might help your highway mileage but would make your in town go down. Im curious to see the results also
