Rear Main Seal #?
Rear Main Seal #?
Looks like a little engine oil drip from where the flywheel and motor meet. I am guessing it is my Rear Main Seal.
What is the Cummins # on that seal and also, how much am I looking to pay?
Also, what is the easiest way of pulling it off and putting the new one in? Tranny, drive lines, transfercase, and then after that?

You may want to replace the square cut O ring behind the camshaft while you're in there..............it's between the back of the block and the transmission adapter and often starts leaking when it gets hard and flat.
It will leak at the back of the block just like a rear seal.

Bump for the morning crew.
Can it be possible it is by blow by and not the axle seal? Seems like the engine oil is coming out of the plate with the 3-.08mm bolts. I can also smell transmission fluid, but the oil dripping is engine oil. It drops on certain days, other days it doesn't drop.

You might want to check the torque on your oil pan bolts. That's what cured it for me. I don't have my manual handy and don't remember what the spec is off hand. Hopefully someone else can post it.

Any info? Looks like the rear main seal just started leaking or something is. It is leaking oil pretty decently where the bell housing is. And now that the Redding event is close, looks like I have to change it out instead of getting a Wicked pump.
So anybody got a part # from Cummins? I need rear main seal and also that square cut O ring behind the camshaft.

ESN is located somewhere else on the engine too. I got a rear main seal for my truck about a month ago because I was gonna put a clutch in. When I got the trans out I decided I didn't need the rear main after all. Any way the seal itself at Cummins was <$10.
I would use my serial # but my truck is 3000 miles away from were Im at. I going to look the parts up with my work access to cummins quickserve. So I need to serial number. Dont mind helping out.
