rear axle seal leak
i did mine at about 74k also. not bad at all to do. took me longer to find a dealer that had the seal than it did to do it. i bought a socket for the big nut in the axle but when i took it apart the nut is not a hex, it is rounded but very easy to loosen. just mark it where it was before you take it off.
I believe 610 is confusing the pinion seal with the axle seal.
The axles are full floating, so to r&r the seal is to remove the plastic lug nut cover, remove 8 axle flange bolts, pull the axle shaft out, remove and clean the paper gasket area, put on a new gasket, clean the sealant from the old bolts, reassemble (95ft-lbs) with locktite 242. Don't even have to jack up the truck or remove the tire.

One more thing, when the axle shaft comes out, so does some fluid which runs down your wheel. To minimize the oil spill, you might want to raise that side by jacking it up a few inches or driving up on a block of wood with that tire.
