raw diesel smell
3 states from home. Pulled up to light. Smell raw fuel thru Ac system. Checked underhood no leak visible. Smells really strong by fuel tank. Any other ideas besides loose connection. Lift pump replaced 5 k ago to intake.

Most likely on the low pressure side of fuel system. If it was high pressure you would see a spray mist under hood. Check the supply line at back of fuel filter housing use 17mm wrench to tighten fitting. With the engine not running.

Also check the fitting on the back of the head for the return line. It is a pita to see unless you have a little sneaky camera gadget or mirror. Just take a shop towel and reach in and check for moisture, with the truck off just incase there is a leak on the high pressure side at the back. Is there any signs of dripping fuel or wet spots visible from the underside?
