Hi I have a 98.5 cummins and I used a (super chips programer on number 2 setting) to get more power for towing, ok so I install the programer ,o and by the way my cummins has 170k on it and has not leaked a drop of oil untill i installed the programer and now it leaks about 1 gal evary 6k and its all out the breather tube .
I un-instaled the programer and it still leaks bad ,I now have 195k on the cummins can someone give me some advice thanks Aaron

If its out the breather tube its not a leak. Its blowby which usually means a ring issue.

One external thing that can cause "blow by" is a leak in the engine's vacuum system. The vacuum pump vents into the crankcase, which is ok unless there's a vacuum leak (such as a vacuum line for the cruise control, 4wd axle disconnect, etc.) At which time all the air sucked in through the leak goes through the vacuum pump and pressurizes the crankcase. It's a long shot, but it's a potential problem you should be aware of.
