pop from exhaust

pop from exhaust
tried doing a search with the words in title, scrambled them a bit but came up with nada. i know there was some info on this some where...
anyways, i was on the peddle a lil today from a slow roll, i would say rpm's climbed to around 2,500. i let off the peddle to coast and had a low muffled "POP" from the tailpipe.
i'm running my BDTD on tow/economy, low end power setting "enabled" and the diablo "off". is this a sign of early injector failure? what causes this?
