Well, I have come to find out that the OBD/Data Link port connector is mangled on my truck. I was able to obtain a later model replacement connector from the dealer. However, when it came time to install the replacement connector and figure out the the pin out locations, I came up with nothing so far. I have looked at the online body builder pdf's from Dodge but it only goes back to 04. I figured 03 and 04 data link port connectors must have the same wiring, right? No, they do not. It turns out it isn't even close. The 04 uses 5 wires and my 03 has 7 wires and not only that, there aren't even ANY common wire colours between them. Crazy.

So, I'm hoping someone here might have the pin out diagrams for 03 electrical connectors? Anyone? Help! I can't plug a scanner in until this is fixed....

 

I think this is what you need. I have an '03 as well and this is the online CD pdf manual I've been using. It shows 7 wires to the data link plug as you said. Hope it helps.

 

OOOO - thank you! I think that is going to work nicely. The pdf actually shows 8 wires...hopefully, I mis-counted? I'll try my luck with this tonight.
