P0148 Fuel Delivery Error caused by gelling fuel???
 

took the truck out today and when i accelerate it bogs down. it also threw P0148.

could this be caused by gelling fuel? it has about 1/2 tank of fuel from last summer and half of new December fuel.

we had mid-teens temps last night.

i also added some fuel treatment about a week ago.

how cold does it need to get for fuel to gel?

if it does gel, does the problem go away once the weather warms up? or does it require some work to fix even if it warms up?

not sure what the problem is but i am a bit wary of that 1/2 tank of summertime fuel.

Any help would be appreciated!

What additive did you put in?

How does the filter look?

I would think jelled fuel could set that code.

I had previously put in some power service cetane boost, and yesterday addd some power service 9*1*1 de-jell treatment.

the truck starts and runs ok except wen i step on it. give it lots of acceleration and it bogs down and throws the error.

i'm usually very easy on the pedal, which means this problem may have been around for a while and i just noticed it yesterday.

the tank has about 50% fuel from last summer, and 50% from 2 weeks ago so i was concerned about old fuel gumming things up, or possibly jelling because it's not winter blend but everything i've read says that if it's jelled you can't even start it.

also, everything i've read says that diesel shelf life is pretty long so i don't think it's stale fuel especially when i've added 1/2 tank of new fuel and added the cetane boost.

i've also read that if it is jelled you can leave it till the weather warms up and the fuel will re=liquify and you're good to go.

an thoughts on diesel shelf life?

I recommend that you determine your low side fuel pressure. This will tell you what your next step is.
