In the morning or when the truck is cold I have this faint sound from the passenger side firewall that kinda sounds like and owl....
Goes away after about a half a mile or so. And it'll kinda come and go maybe three times.

Is it turbo noise ??
Any one else have this ?

Yup, I have it too. So do others I've spoken to. Not sure exactly what it is but it does sound like the turbo.

 

I have it too, from new. Nobody's ever been able to explain it. Just like you said....a hootie owl. Exactly what it sounds like.

 

I think that makes your trucks endagered species and now you are unable to BOMB them do to the infamous "Glove Box Hoot Owl" sorry to hear about your misfortune...

Ive never heard it on mine. I have the 6 speed and all of you have the auto so mayby thats got something to do with it.

 

Include me in the hoot owl in the glove box club. I have had it since new and still have it 25K later. It is louder with colder outside temperatures for those of you who have not had your truck in Winter weather yet. I have the six shooter so the hoot owl club membership is not limited to automatic owners only.
