Question Oil level for 10.5 AAM axle w/LS

Planned on changing out the rear pumpkin oil last weekend. Had to put it on hold because I was'nt sure how much to put in it. Looked through the entire owners manual, did not list how much. How many bottles of M1 75W-09 will it take?

The DRM says 4.75 pints for the 10.5" AAM. You sure its a 10.5"? I thought those went out with the older 3rd gen SO engine.

If its a 11.5", the book says 7.65 pints.

You dont have a 10 inch rear. Unless you bought a GASSER?!?

Buy 4 quarts, and start filling. On your last quart bring it up to 1/2 inch of the hole.

Guys,
Check the rear end not the paperwork.

All 3/4 and 1-ton trucks equipped with the CTD came from the factory with the AAM 11.5" rear end, if yours doesn't you either swapped it out or you were sold a non-stock truck.

My '03 Cummins powered Ram had a 10.5" rear end. The HO 6spd and all 3500's gas or diesel have the 11.5" rear end. My '05 2500 gasser has a 10.5" rear end. All HO Cummins powered Rams should have an 11.5". My '03 got Mobil-1 75w-90. Just under 2.5quarts put it to the full mark. But I thought all '04's were HO's and all had the 11.5" rear end.
