Oil drain plug leaks

I replaced my engine oil drain plug in my 05 Cummins a couple of years ago because it seemed to be leaking. I had a lot of oil around the plug and on the bottom of the pan. So I put in a new drain plug. Now after probably two or three oil changes it seems to be doing it again. These plugs have a rubber coating on them that seems to be part of the plug. I'm not sure this is a good design and wonder if anyone else has experienced this and replaced the oil drain plug with one which has a washer seal or something.

Take a look at this thread, and if you decide to do this to your's, you'll have no need to pull your plug ever again.
Back to morning brew . . .
