NV5600 in 07

So Ive been thinking of swapping a manual in my 07 lately, and would MUCH prefer an NV5600 over the G56.

So heres what Im thinking. Find an 03-05 reg. cab with the 6 speed. Swap the 6 speed into the 07 and the built auto into the reg. cab and basically go crazy with it instead of the truck I need for daily driving. Basically the 07 would be a tow rig for the race truck.

In my thinking, itd be a fairly direct swap. Just would need an ECM reflash, that Marco could provide. And use a PCS controller for the auto. Anybody done a 5600 inplace of a G56??

Also, is there a difference between NVs used in 2nd gens versus those used in 3rd gens? I could expand the search to a late 2nd gen then...

Am I crazy?

From what Ive seen, G56 is weaker than the NV. If I do this, the 07 wouldnt be stock. Itd probably be right around 700hp...right where G56s are splitting cases

Your 05 has a 48re...

I would love to put a 6-speed in my 07 also. That is the only thing I wish my truck had different. How difficult/expensive is it to do this?

I dont think its all that difficult, especially if you have a donor sitting right by it. Expensive...well just for parts I could see close to $5k, depending on where you source stuff and if its new or rebuilt or not.
