Normal trans temp w/sensor in pan

I recently installed ISSPRO gauges in my '05 (pics in my gallery). I mounted the trans temp gauge in the pan using the drain plug kit. After fully warming up (30+ minutes driving w/no load) it levels off at about 130 degrees. The local air temps have been in the 60's this week. Could this be reading wrong? Is it possible that it really stays that cool?

I was surprised that the sensor didn't stick into the pan very far. When tightened all the way into the drain plug, the end of the sensor was about flush with the back of the nut inside the pan. Is this normal?

Thanks to all for your help, this site is a great resource!

Mine sits between 140 in the morning and 180 during the day. Rush hour traffic.

PS Welcome to the club...

Edit: I'm plumbed into a deep ATS pan.

mine runs 150-180 with the outside temp around 45. I am plumbed into the output fluid lline to the cooler.

Mine's the same as Tfeore although I just have the stock pan.

So, maybe my sensor is bad? It sounds like 130 is much too low...

It's lower than some but your ambient is easily 20* lower than mine. We were in the mid to high 80's today. I run 180 in the summer all day long.

I say it's probably close to normal. I had a guage in my 98 auto CTD and usually the needle didn't even come off the peg. I thought it was broken until I hooked my trailer up and then the needle moved.

Temp

Comming to work I think I saw 100 degrees in the tranny output line. It was only 40 degree's out and work is only 15 miles so yeah, depends, and if you tow you'll see it more more than when empty
