Newbie Here "05 CTD Oil Leak

Hi all, newbie here. I have a '05 CTD that every so often drops a drop of oil on the floor. My brother said it's coming out of the "slobber tube".?
I bought the truck used in Dec. abd it had 16,000 miles on it, now it has about 22,000', Is this normal ?

Thanks
Ray

It very well could be... Get under it on the DRIVERS side and find the "Blow By tube".. SHould be to the left of the main engine pan.... If that area is anywhere near where you saw the solem drip thats probably what it is... Take a rag and wipe it down.. Some have zip tied socks, etc to catch the oil... LOLOL

Yes, that's the tube it's coming from, but is this normal. My brother has an '05 3500 and had a '03 2500 and his didn't do this. ??

It is absolutely normal... Theirs probably did it too but maybe they didn't catch it or something... Now a drop now and then is NORMAL, if you have a LOT coming out of there, or it is flowing out the tube and coating the under side of the truck, this is NOT normal! This means your crank case is filling up and thats how it gets out. Usually yhis will happen when an Injector sticks open and fills the crank With Diesel or if a head gasket gives way and fills the crank with coolant. A drop now and then is just fine and it is doing it's job...

Thank you, it is just a drop now and then. No oil on the back of the truck, and I believe it's after we have been on the road for a few hours.

That cleared things up for me too! I also had a drop every once in a while and couldn't find the source. No oil any where else. Thanks, another Newbie
