Well I took the plunge and got a new '06 3500 SRW QC SB Inferno red. I was looking at 2 other 2500s before this at the same dealer. The first sold before I could make up my mind. The second one I test drove and the radio would not turn on....yes I know how to operate it. The salesman tried it and it worked. What the...!? My wife and I didn't have a warm fuzzy feeling about the truck. I found this 3500 on the lot for only $700 more than the 2500s and bought it. The only difference I could see under the trucks is the 3500 has an extra 2 leafs above the main leaf springs. The 2500 has 8800 or 8900 GVW? The 3500 has 9900GVW. Are there any other differences?

 

nope basically the same truck. get yourself some bags or other type of "add-a-leaf" set and you basically have a 3500... except for the gvwr stickers

9900 for 3500 is right. My lift consists of an add a leaf in the rear so I basically have the same as a 3500 now

 

I bought my '05 off the dealer's lot, or I would've ordered an SRW; but I just installed 5K# airbags and a rear sway bar.
