New Transmission is in

Just returned home from a 2200 mile trip to Goerends Transmission shop in St. Lucas, Ia.
It was a true pleasure to meet Dave and discuss the fine art of transmissions. He is very quality driven and every transmission and convertor is dyno tested before installed or sent to customer. Todd who did the install is so versed at this he made the process look easy. If you want to scare yourself, look at the OEM flex plate... Very thin and it is amazing they all do not fail. Compare it to a billet one, the choice is simple. No comparison.
If you are thinking about making the leap and investing in upgrading your transmission, you absolutely could not go wrong with Dave Goerend.
(I was not paid for this post)
Thanks Dave.

610..."Night and Day" is an over used phrase but the difference really is.
There is some really pretty country up there, and if you are not familiar with what corn looks like in the field, you will be an expert before you leave.
He has a great little shop with some very experienced personnel. The gentleman working on the torque converters told me he had done that for 15 years at another facility before going to work for Dave. They test all of the valve bodies before they ship to verify pressures. My transmission has a data sheet on file with all of the pressures recorded for the trans, the torque convertor, and the valve body. All tested independently and again as an assembly.
Very thorough, and very quality driven. There "Good Enough" just isn't, and frankly when I am in the middle of BFE I do not need or want poor quality issues with after market parts.
I feel my money was well spent.

DBLR... Don't wait too long, when you get it done you will ask your self "Why the heck did I not do this sooner" It transforms the truck

St. Lucas is a cool town, did you get to go to the White Light Restuarant and Nubby's Bar. The White Light has a real good name, the owners are Craig's parents and and Nubby used to work at Dave's. Cool little community. I'm going in July for a little R&R, kinda nice to get a way, you can really think over there.

Yes I had them install the trans. I was quoted $300 if no issues and $400 if it was a hard one. Mine was easy. They do so many it is compared to a Pit stop in Nascar. Do it often enough you become an expert and know what tool and where to push and pry.
Well worth the 300-400. My reasoning was this. Should I ever have an issue the finger can only point one way. They built it, they installed it.
If you ever decide to do this, you will find Dave very engaging and very very customer service driven. When I left, I had, and still don't have any worries about the product or the person behind it.

Thumbs up Built autos.

I've heard nothing but good things about DG trannies. I also can vouch for DTT products. A built auto is an awesome product. You will have more control over your truck and the power goes straight to the ground. I had a DTT on my '99.
