New 6.7- 350hp and 650tq
I used to have a login to www.daimlerchryslermedia.com, but I can't remember what it was. I bet it's all in there. You can get brochures and all kinds of nice pics for officially released material there.
I have acquired the official Press release documents (won't mention the source, even though this is public info), here is the relevant info on the powertrain options:

Now the tranny options, the 68RE is being called the Orion and is available 01/01/07 with the 6.7 Cummins. I don't see it mentioned that it's a Autostik which was stated in the last info I read and posted from Allpar.

Yes, the official information that also came out about the cab and chassis units (which I did not post any details from, it's a seperate document, there are actually 10 documents that came with the new details) talks about the Aisin in some detail including the fact at the end that mentions:
MANUFACTURING INFORMATION
2007 model year production start: July 2006 (September 2006 for diesel
automatic)
Production location: Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico
6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine: Cummins Engine Plant in
Columbus, Ind.
5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine: Saltillo Engine Plant in Saltillo, Mexico
Six-speed automatic transmission: Aisin Transmission Facility in Ogawa,
Aichi, Japan
Six-speed manual transmission: Sao Bernardo do Campo plant in Sao
Paulo, Brazil
Five-speed automatic transmission: Kokomo Transmission in Kokomo,
Ind.
Nothing new or surprising about that though. Of course the Cab and Chassis press release only mentions one 6 speed since it's the only one available for the C&C.

Who cares about automatic transmissions. The real "tragic" news here is the engine detuning for the manual transmission.
This news confimrs that the G56 transmission was a horrible replacement for the 5600 trans. If 610 lb/ft. is its max, then you have to ask yourself if DC is trying to phase out the manual transmission in the next few years.
If so, then the only trucks worth buying will be medium duties with 6/7/9 speed manuals.
Very sad.
