My first problem for 03

I just got back from dropping off my 03 SRW CTD. Let me tell what it did. Yesterday was the first time I drove it in about 4 days. On the freeway, it did not want to go into overdrive. It did not shift until about 2800rpm's. Cruise did not want to set. This morning on my way home, the check engine light (the little engine symbol) came on and stayed on. Now, it would not shift into 4th at all. Still, no cruise. I had to pull a couple hills to get home pulling about 12k and it felt like the tranny was "Shuddering" a little. Sounds funny, but that's the best description I can come up with.
I hope to hear something tomorow but I thought I'd hit the list first. This was bad timing. I was headed out of town for a four day in the snow.

Thanks in advance.

Got the thing back today. Turned out it was a loose wire to a sensor. Might have been a good thing though. Avalanche warnings in the area I was headed.

Glad to hear it wasn't anything bad. It seems that loose wire has bit a couple of members here. The good thing is that's about the only bad thing I've heard about the 48RE. Dodge might actually have a good auto tranny now.
Avalanches, huh. It seems there's always a reason for everything that happens, doesn't it?

I had the same problem it finally turned out to be the computer.
No od and no cruise.

The dealer told me the same bs about sensor wires etc. I think they just reset the computer and hope it will work.

In my case it took 3 trips to solve the problem

Be aware they have to order the computer from Dodge so it takes a few days.

We'll see about the puter. As to the avalanches, I think the 60-80 mph winds would have been worse. The area I was headed should have been safe. The wind would have mad it a little hard to get out with two 7 year olds. It was also supposed to be done snowing by Wednesday. Last I looked it was going straight through to the weekend. It's weird how "things" happen.

I had the same problem some time ago. No OD and no cruise. For me the fix was to replace the computer. Took about a week to get the computer to the dealer. The guy in line directly in front of me at the service desk had the same problem and he had the computer replaced as well. Since then I havn't had any trouble.

2003 3500 Dually LB, trans been working fine. Sat for 2 weeks did not drive, have have a 2003 SB drive daily. Went to drive Dually and No OD and No Cruise. Took to dealer, said it was modulator had transfluid and water in it, corrosion on connector. Still not fixed, had to order new harness they said. They had modulator but the harness is BO. Does any of this sound straight to you out there? I'm little leary of it all.

No it does not sound right. Tell the service manager to order a computer that you have heard of several other people with the same problem. That way it does not take another week. Also if you note that you told him about the computer you may get them to pay for your rental car.
