Magnuson Moss act and ATF+4

I was reading the TDR where I came upon a link to Chevron about ATF+4 and they, Chevron made a statement as to that ATF+4 was only available through DC. This causes me concern as this give them no competition.

I've never read the Magnuson Moss act, but my understanding that that if a manufacturer requires something like a fluid where they have complete rights (They will not allow anyone else to produce, allowing them to charge what they want), they have to provide it for free.

Does anyone know if DC has a lock on ATF+4 or is it that no one else wants to make and produce it. Reguardless of why the reason is, under the Magnuson moss act, don't DC have to give us ATF+4 for free now?

They're not the only ones making an ATF+4 fluid.

That is a true statement. AMSOIL is the only other company that has meet and or exceeded the requiremnets on their ATF for ATF+4 ;D ;D

I believe that D4 ATF from Red Line meets the requirement. I have never had a question from the dealer about using the stuff, but never had a transmission fail when using it either.

Has anyone used Valvoline ATF? The Valvoline web site states that their fluid, Max Life Dextron III/Mercon, is a suitable replacement for Chrysler ATF+4.
