Newby / RE: VIN DATA SITE

Recently came across the Diesel Truck Resource site and have found it very informative, especially since I am new to a Cummins powered vehicle. Checked out the VIN identifier and this has enable me to understand how my truck was equipped from the factory. It is low mileage 130K well maintained by the previous US owner. I really enjoy driving this 03 2500HD SLT / 4 dr / trailer tow package / 8800 lb GVWR / auto 2wd. I am in Manitoba, and no, I do not get stuck anywhere (primarily because I learned long ago how to drive a 68 3/4 ton GMC with a stick in Montreal with mud & snow tires). I have it (the 03) equipped with 4 CTC winter rated radials and have no complaints with starting or stopping. I once owned a British 4wd and it allowed me access to places where I could (and would) really get stuck! Older and a bit wiser now so 2wd is great for my needs. Love the torque & smooth ride from the 2wd set up.
Great site!! Learning much too!

To get a vehicle inspection report, you can start by contacting a local mechanic or inspection service. They will check the car's condition and provide
a detailed report on its parts and systems. You might also ask the seller if they have a recent inspection report. This report helps you understand
the car’s condition before you buy it. If you need more detailed help, you can consult a car expert or mechanic.

For a car of this year, the final drive ratio is typically 4.10:1 or 4.56:1, depending on the specific trim level, but the most accurate information can be obtained by checking the VIN or hood plate using Toyota VIN Report .
As for the warranty, the factory warranty was 36 months/36,000 miles for the base trim level and 84 months/70,000 miles for the powertrain, although the situation is different with optional warranties.
