Little wetness......

Hey there all! I noticed a few thousand miles back that I had some slight wetness around the back couple bolts at the back of my oil pan Gasket/Bell housing. Right where the Manual trans bolts up to the back of the oil pan. Certainly not even close to making a "Drop" or dripping down the front of the bell housing etc.. It's definately NOT from the blow by tube. Pan Bolts are snug already. Nothing too really worry about just wanted to see if anyone else noticed anything similar???? I usually just wipe it off with a rag ever so often. Truck has 16,500 miles.. thanks!

Look at your rocker box gasket or the valve cover gasket on the back of the motor. That is where the common leak area is.

You'll need an inspection mirror Roperteacher, hard to see back there without one. If you don't see an oil path down from the valve cover to your wet spot then it is gasket seepage at the oil pan area you are looking at/wiping off.

Thanks all, I don't have the inspection mirror but because of the great cummins, I can actually see the TOP of my Bell housing from the topside of the truck and it's fine and dandy.. THey "Seepage" is actually no big deal I just wanted to know how common it was... Thanks again!

Mine seeps just a touch around the rear of the oil pan, too.

Like yours, it's just enough to wipe off when I'm doing an oil change.
