Leaking CP3
OK guys so I have a small fuel leak from the rear of my CP3 pump. It's really minor-if I wipe everything clean, it takes over a week for enough fuel to drip out before it will drip a drop on the garage floor at night.
I searched here, and it looks like some people say it's just because of the cold weather (it's been 5-15 degrees out here during most days), and some people have had luck tightening the 4 torx screws that hold the gearset cover onto the rear of the pump body. Anyone offer any advice? I don't think any dealer on earth would honor my warranty at this point [nonono], so I won't ask them to. But if there's a simple fix for this, I'd like to know what it is. Thanks! |
This is the first winter since I bought the truck that the CP3 hasn't leaked. It must have healed itself. If it is not leaking a bunch I wouldn't worry about it. It will stop leaking when the weather warms back up.

The simple fix is take it apart and replace the o-rings with slightly over sized ones. That does a pretty good job of stopping the cold weather drips.
