Just bought an 03 3500 - have a question
 

I just picked up a 2003 4x4 HO 6spd 3500 SRW truck.

I noticed that the front U-joints have some play in them, and that the prop shaft has had the U-Joint at the tranny replaced already. Are these U-joints covered under warranty? Do they typically wear out - or did the previous owner just use 4x4 on dry pavement alot??


I think my first mod will be a set of bigger tires - the 4.10's are Killing me! [laugh]

No, the U-joints are not covered under warranty. Yes the stock U-joints fail. I had 2 of th 3 on my rear driveshaft fail.

I haven't had any problems with mine but I did have to get the transfer case seal replaced under warranty. The big tires will make the truck look much better..:D

I should have clarified....The front outter U joints at the wheel hubs are the ones with the play in them. The rear prop shaft coming out of the transfer case has had it's U-joint replaced already.
