injectors

Can anyone tell me what injectors cost for the common rail diesels? (approximate cost anyways)

hoser Aug 8, 2005 12:53 PM

$583.00 Canadian PLUS $141.00 core for a 05 dc injector

How ya like dem apples?

Glad I don't have a Duramax.

Then again, what's the diff between 3600 and 4800?

Ridiculous either way.

Yeah, that seems absolutely ridiculous to me. I sure hope the price on these goes down. It almost costs as much to replace the injectors as it does to get a whole new engine.

to replace the engine is at a MINUMUM of $10K.

I think you are missing the point that was trying to be made. We all know that a replacement engine can't be purchased for $3600.00. (although I would argue that the MINIMUM is not $10K - but it depends on where you buy it and warranties ect) I think the point Cummins2 was trying to make is that is seems that the cost of the injectors relative to the cost of the entire engine is a little off base. It is hard to believe (at least for me) that 6 small injectors cost over $3000.00 when the entire engine is sold for (to keep things round) $10K. There may be licensing fees or something of that nature that drive up the cost... I don't know. But I also agree that they seem way over priced relative to the cost of the entire engine.

Yes , it doent make sense considering a dc reman injection pump costs $987.00 canadian

bigblock2stroke Aug 9, 2005 11:46 AM

The injectors are way more complicated than the CP3 pump.

The CP3 is actually far simpler than a Vp44

The VP44 did all the fueling control. The CP3 just pressurizes the rail and the injectors actually do all the control.

intresting that you mention the #1 injector line rattle/knock. I also have some bummed injectors and waiting to have them repaired. Keep us informed of what is going on. If i here anything on mine i will post.
