injector longevity

I was told injectors are only good for 120 to 140k in my 06. Does anybody have any input on this? I was hoping to get around 200k.

The key is fuel filtration and the stock filter generally is not good enough.

Alot of guys on here run an extra 2 micron filter after the stock fuel filter and before the fuel goes to the CP3 injection pump.

With proper fuel filtration, you can prob go 200K or longer. Every truck is different and run under different sets of circumstances and sources of fuel. But you can improve your odds alot by filtering that fuel as clean as possible.

Injector #1 failed closed at about 97,500 miles. It's replacement and the other 5 originals seem to be doing fine at 171k miles. I have a couple trips coming up so when I get back mid August or so, I hope to be sending all 6 to DonM for testing and 1.6 tips. I tow about 9,500# 10% of the time and like power and milage (do those words even go together?).

I combine Fleetguard filters and quality fuel.

Do a search here for a CAT 1r-0749 or CAT 1r-0750 filter setup. I don't think I have $100 total in mine originally... Then I added another (dual filters) because I believe in overkill. Still cheaper than the kits you can buy.

Mine in my 06 went out at 88,000. I`m watching my Duramax. It`s the same year, same fuel only a different driver. It has about 50,000 miles on it. When the early Duramax had alot of injector problems GM extented the warranty to 200,000 miles. My truck has been at the dealer waiting on injectors for over a week with no end in sight. Doesn`t Dodge think this will influence people like me when I get ready to buy a new truck?

The dealer just called & said my truck was ready. One week instead of two. I`ll be glad to get back behind the wheel.

I plugged one at 50k and another one Monday at 75k. Have an appt. Monday at the dealer to get them looked at. Would like all new updated ones that I can send out to get worked over a bit.
