Idle drop, Partial Stall help.

HI All,

I am at wits end. This is maddening. I have searched through a zillion posts here and on other forums. I am pretty frustrated. I have thrown a bunch of parts at it, hoping I could luck out. This issue comes and goes. Usually happens once a run around town, sometimes it happens throughout a trip around town. Basically from what I can tell this is a partial stall. Usually when coming to a stop, it will sometimes stall when I put it in reverse, other times it does a partial stall. I am hoping someone can look through the 30 second video I have posted and see what I have done below and maybe point me in a different direction. This is a part 1 post, I will post a part two once I have some video to what appears to be a torque converter momentary unlock which I don't think is related. That causes a clunk at 50 and 70mph.

The truck:

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4wd Diesel. ~125k miles. Bone Stock, No mods. 48re

Here is short YouTube video. first stumble happens about midway through and two more at the end.

Had the crank/cam Sensor code. No codes up until yesterday, I replaced both sensors. P00016. Yesterday was colder out, truck only sat for a day. It did what you see in the video for about 10 mins of my under 50mph driving and even a stall at idle during some bumper to bumper. All throughout the experience the idle drop was in rapid succession. Then, it was perfectly fine.

New Baldwin Fuel Filter

Grounds look good up near the batteries and on the firewall.

Checked for short around AC where there are a ton of suggestions to look. all wires look good.

Replaced Transmission Pressure Sensor & Governor Pressure Solenoid

Replaced Speed sensor

Replaced Bosch Fuel Control Actuator FCA MPROP

APS Pedal reset

Still there. I am hoping this is not an injector problem. Anyone with any ideas to would be greatly appreciated.

The insulation failed on the wires near the connector to the crank sensor of my '04. Symptoms were intermittent misses and the crank sensor code.
In my case, the PS pump was leaking, dribbled fluid into the wire conduit, which deteriorated the insulation. I doubt it's a common problem, but it is easy enough to pull the plug and check the wires.

Good luck!

Boxerrider.... Hey thanks for that advice!!! Its funny you should mention PS pump. I looked in my engine bay and there was no power steering fluid cap on. PS fluid all over FCA plug, part of the ECM and the crank sensor connector. I bought a new cap (found the old one too stuck between a couple hoses). Contact cleanered the FCA plug, the ECM wires and the crank connector. A little surgically placed electrical tape and some dielectric grease on the pins of each seemed to do the trick. No intermittent misfires, no partial idle stalls, fingers crossed this was it.
