I A T

#1 Where is the IAT sensor located now ? I used to clean the one on my 2001, but servicing my truck today, I noticed that it is not in the old place, or shape .
#2 on the engine there are several stickers --which, and what denotes the fact that it is a HO ? are all 6 speeds HO?

Reason I ask it seems kinda doggy at times, compared to my 2001 dually. It seemed to have a lot more torque down around 1800 rpm. (course it had a ez)
Is it my imagination? 20,000 miles now and I,m pretty happy with the truck , (maybe I need a little electronic help ?)

The IAT sensor is attached to the top of the air filter housing, about an inch up from where the intake tube attaches. See pic below.

Standing in front of the truck, there is a sticker on the right side of the engine, towards the front, at the top. This sticker has the engine horsepower rating printed on it. You will know it when you see it. 250hp for the SO and 305 for the HO.

I am looking for the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. for the intake manifold. The one that tends to get dirty. when you have a engine brake on.
This picture apears to be a pressure sensor
I overlooked the sticker horsepower rating--- I knew that !!!! looked right at it and didn't see it !!!
Thanks ! !

that sensor is the intake air temp sensor. i don't believe there is one in the manifold bolted to the head on the 3rd gen models. the service paper says it is also a pressure sensor, not sure what it would be measuring pressure for, maybe factory air filter restriction that the ecm reads?

The MAT (manifold air temp sensor) you are talking about is built into the MAP (boost sensor) and is located on the rear top of the intake manifold. 4-wires coming out of it.

AHH HA Thankyou !!! I was pretty sure that they would have something to measure the temperature, post turbo. This would be the one on top, with several star screws holding it on, I assume. Has any one else cleaned one of these to see if fuel mileage improves a little ? do you clean em just like the old ones , with a squirt of brake cleaner or starting fluid?

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the gaskets used for the differential covers when I changed gear lube. REUSABLE ! and the bolts were all lock tight treated.
