How many quarts?

Im gonna change my fluids for the first time. Im having trouble finding out how many quarts I need for the Rear and the Front Diff. Im gonna use Amsoil if that matters. So if u know I would appreciate the help.

The Amsoil site lists all the capacities.

Maybe it's wrong but I just stick my finger in the hole and if it's easy to reach the fluid, I figure I'm OK so long as the color is right, the fluid is clean looking and it smells like he!!.

Probably an incorrect method but I've never had differential problems.

I just changed my 2003 last weekend and it took 8 quarts if I remember correctly. It took an act of god to get all the fluids from autozone. I used the valvoline 80w90 full synthetic.

When I did mine it took just over 7 qts, 3 front 4 rear but then I also let the oil drain out over night.

I second DBLR do the front first, just under 3 quarts. The rear is at 4 qts maybe a hair more

Just under 3 for the front and just under 4 for the rear. Make sure you don't overfill them either. There is a line on the outside of each diff cover under the fill hole that references the proper level of fluid needed for each.

Just changed mine on an 05 think its the same. Used a little over 7 quarts 4 in rear 3 in front but buy 8 because its a little more. I didnt realize there was a line under the fill hole I just filled mine until it leaked back from the hole. Used mobile one synthetic 75w-90 it has the limited slip additive for the rear already in it. I heard somewhere you dont need the additive but i used that oil just incase. No diff chatter yet. By the way I had gaskets for front and rear that came off but no one sold them so I used a thin layer of RTV on both sides and reused them. No leaks so far.
