High idle function, ..what wire.

I know this topic has been posted many many times. Ive been searching, and reading so much, I have a headache.

I had the dealer enable my high idle, today, on my 04.5 six speed. I read one time (here), that there is a wire under the dash, for the clutch switch, that you simply ground. Thats it.

I cant find where I read that, now. All I can find, says I need to run a wire from #22 pin (plug b, I think), on the ecu and run it to ground.

Where is the wire under the dash????? Do you guys know what Im talking about????? The diesel tech at the dealer says I need to buy a kit. I KNOW thats not so.

....I think it was a green wire, btw.

You need to get the wire with the pin from Cummins and insert it into pin 22 slot on the ECU B connector and ground it to the ECU mounting lug.

There is no wire under the dash on a manual that will activate the high idle. That wire gets added with the clutch switch kit your dealer was referring to.

Oh, I see.

Should I go to Cummins, or the dodge dealer?

Does the wire/pin have to be a certain one? Probably just that type of pin, ....huh?

Yep, its a special little guy.

Go to Cummins, a dealer would not have the slightest idea what you need.

part number= #3164263. ECU wire.

Yep, go to Cummins for that part and spend <$20. The dealer will want almost $400 for the clutch switch.

I think a Deutz connector will work as well.

I ran my ecm wire to the parking brake wire. this way you can kinda disable the feature. Im not sure if it engages the PTO function and will show up with a scan tool.

Some someone tell me where I can buy this online? The Cummins dealer wants $14 + freight for it.

What's wrong with that? The part was $18+ up here and cost me probably over $10 in fuel to go pick it up. Still cheaper than than the almost $400 for a clutch switch from the dealer. Get it and run.

Most online places want $13.94 plus shipping. Sorry.
