HELP!! Truck starts and shuts right back off

Prior to today, my truck has given me no issues and was running great. This morning, I started it in the garage and it ran for a couple seconds and shut off. I tried this 3 times with the same result. I got a ride to work and remembered my other key was at home so I had my wife try the other key thinking it was a sentry key issue. She got the same results.

I was planning on grabbing a new fuel filter today and changing that and trying it. Is there something else I should be looking at? Or anything else I should/could try if that doesn't work?

Thanks in advance.

Disconnect both batteries. Let it sit for a little while and then connect them back up. See what happens. If it is the sentry key issue, this should reset it.

I got home last night and tried starting it, it would turn over but not fire. We pulled the filter out and turned the key on to verify that the lift pump was working. The filter was not excessively dirty as it only has around 3k on it. Installed a new filter and attempted to start it, same thing. I disconnected both batteries and let it sit for 30 minutes or so. Hooked them back up and it fired up right away. I took the truck for a ride and it ran great like normal. I drove it to work this morning with no issues.

I'm thinking this was a Sentry Key issue and not a fuel issue. With that said, what would cause that to occur? I haven't added any new electronics to the truck or my garage/house.

I have no idea what caused the issue. I have just heard it several times over the years on the board. Glad it fixed it for you.
