Help truck barely moves!
Hey guys I have a 03 Dodge 2500 5.9L HO diesel. My truck will move just fine when it sits for awhile. When it gets up to temp it is really slow at the start and fuel consumption is horrible. Shifts smoothly when it gets up to speed. I check the transmission fluid when it was running for awhile and when it sat for awhile. Then will often get pretty high on temp after the slow take off. I checked the coolant also. Any ideas? I just recently had the transmission rebuilt but not the torque converter. Transmission is still under warranty but I'm out of state.

You had the trans rebuilt but didnt replace the converter?? What are the engine rpms doing during all this, revving high, lugging, ect...?
|
By chance have U tried readjusting the bands, could ba that simple , hope it helps.

A bad TC will pump metal shavings into the trans plugging up the valve body etc.....

It's lugging it down pretty bad. And no I haven't but I will definitely look into that
