HELP!! - 03 2500 47RE DEALER NO HELP
 

OK GUYS I REALLY NEED SOME HELP!!!! [eyecrazy]

I have a 2003 Ram H/D 2500 47RE 4.10 gear ratio

Purchased to haul trailer 6000# with load of 4500#
Prior to my purchase the torque converter drain back valve was replaced.
The first time this truck was hooked to pull (6000#) it blew out the trans plug and all the fluid came out. They put it back and filled it and said its OK.

This truck has no power when pulling - when it shifts out of O/D there is a loud grind/clunk noise. ::)
Over 60mph when you step on the gas its like pushing on AIR ??? :(

It has been in the dealership now 3 times (suppose to pick up today) ::)

The engineer hotline states that the truck is doing what it is suppose to do - no power or down shift over 60mph - sound Right??? [eyecrazy]

They did a "flash" on it in August and I did have a downshift
i. e. more power after that but a week later it was gone again. :-

I am at my whits end with this truck - had it for 6 months and its a SISSY TRUCK ??? :'(

Does anyone else have this problem, or know the fix. ???

Or - is there and aftermarket something I can do to get power, so I am safe on the road. (I haul horses - need to be able to get away from the idiots on the road!!) ;D

I bought this particular truck because it was rated to do what I needed. ;)

get and edge box it will make all the difference in the world. my truck seemed weak until that and now no complaints. do keep an eye on the tranny though. after blowing the drain plug i would be a little concerned.

but what is the edge box - where can I get it? what about installation and does it void any warranties that you know of?

What could some problems associated with loosing fluid be?

Another question - this is a lease [eyecrazy] crazy on my part - would that have any affect later (3 years) Leased truck because I also bought 2002 Jeep for every day. We live in the country and need 4x4 for everything

I was thinking of taking it to one of local truck pulls and seeing
if it would hold up - if not maybe then it would get fixed. ;D

Do you have the same or similar truck?
Do you like your hitch?? I love mine when it can be used.

wow a lease.if you put on the edge ez box,just be sure you take it off before service.use it for your 3 years,take it off and sell it.last month i traded in my 2500 with the standard output engine and the 47re-no power for a 2500 high output 6 speed.i lost some money,but was not happy with the truck.i am very glad i did it.good luck!

Sorry to hear about the problem. I have had a few problems with my 47re tranny and DC is doing a buy back. I followed the lemon law procedures and DC actually is buying back my truck and deducting $1,000 because I had 6k miles on it when I first took it in. They were never able to fix the noise I had in the tranny, so after 4 attempts I sent in the card in the book notifying DC of the problem, they called my twice for some information and my check is supposed to be ready shortly. I had an earlier threat on this site called banging noise if you are interested in reading that one. Good luck. I am going out of state now to buy a HO with a 48re. Hope that one works out!

What exactly was the noise? I get a bad noise when hauling
when shifting out of O/D (last shift) actually you can feel it in the passenger seat.

Do you or did you have the power problem?

Its just not a safe vehicle in my opinion.
