There is a recent post on the TDR that makes reference to a hold on Getrag 6-speed transmissions, apparently detailed in a bulletin #0-4287. The Getrag tranny is the light duty unit in 1500 series Dodge Rams and has order code DEJ. The information is consistant with what I was told by my dealer last week when I inquired about my G-56 equipped truck. At that time I was informed there were no quality control issues with the G-56, which is coded DEG, nor was there any hold on this transmission so my truck would be shipped when a rail car was available and delivered to me as soon as it was available. My dealer did specifically mention that the senior DC representative he had consulted on my behalf had reported the hold on the part coded DEJ. It may be hopeful thinking on my part but I take this information as further indication that there is no major issue with the G-56 nor is there any conspiracy of silence on DC's part.
