Fuel Tank Mod

Do I have to buy fuel tank mod kit ($60) or can I fab it up from parts at the auto parts store and/or home depot?

Anyone have a link to instructions and pictures?

For those that have done the mod, what do you think? Like it, dislike it?

Thanks!!

I am pretty sure the guy who made it fabbed it up from parts at home depot, but it is super convienient to not have to shop for the parts.

maybe he raised the prices, I recall paying 45 for mine. but I love it, having the ability to fill the tank as full as possible before a long trip is pretty nice. I hate stopping once I have started, so to cut down on the ammount of times I have to fill up is pretty sweet.

You just need:
3/4" bulkhead fitting
3/4" 90
3/4" male to pushlock fitting
6' of 3/4" hose
3/4" plug (for factory vent)
hose clamps

One of the best mods you can do in my opinion.

No complaints here with my fuel tank mod. It was $45 when I bought it but that was 2 years ago.

Lets you fill the tank up completely all the way to the top with no air space at the top as it has in stock form. Makes it to where you can get about 2 or 3 more gallons in there than what the 32 gal shortbed, 34 gal longbed tanks hold.

Yep excellent mod, faster filling, greater capacity. My shortbed tank with the mod holds 40 yes forty gallons when filled to the top of the filler neck. Measured it when I installed the mod a couple years ago.

I found it easier to just buy the kit as I was also buying a GDP Walbro and Big Line Kit anyway. My tank has a label that reads 35 gallons. I dumped about 6 gallons back in the tank when I finished and then drove 4.5 miles and refilled the tank with a hair over 30 gallons. This gave me at least a 36 gallon capacity.
