Fuel Filter question

Hey guys need a little help going to change my fuel filter for the fist time this coming weekend and wondering where to get the new filter? Didnt know any better and was at checkers and checked to see if they have them but they dont carry them. Where do you guys get them locally? dealership? internet? Also will the new filter come with the new o-ring? Thanks for any imput

I get mine at a local auto parts store, dealership will also carry them. Cheap and easy and yes the filter comes with the o ring. The only checkers I know sells drive thru burgers.[laugh]

You should give a lot more info to get a lot more answers , user control panel , fill in truck details , and your location .
Look in the yellow pages to find a Cummins dealer , unless you one of the lucky ones [ to have a good one ] do not go the the dodge dealer , too much mark up .
Its getting to the point that with diesels , filters you are not going to find any good filters at the do it yourself parts houses , look for Fleatguard , Donaldson , Napa gold is a good one made for them , I can not remember the name , an other branded filter .
Fram is one of the big names that many do not like any more .

I always get mine from either Napa or Car Quest.

I know what you mean. Don't you just hate that!! There is always something you just can't live without. It is a great place to shop online.

I get my fleetguard at the local cummins shop about 2 miles away.(closer than the dealer)

I guess I didnt know there were better filters for the stock filter application. I change mine every 2 months but I will look into different brands that have been brought up on this thread.

Thanks, learn something everyday.

BTW, the Baldwin P/n is PF7977 for the 5 micron.
