Flashes Needed On ALL '06 Trucks?

Do all new trucks need the latest flashes or is there a cut-off point on the manufacturing dates? Mine was built in June, 06 and I just recently had my first long crank/hard start.

I was really trying to avoid having the dealer re-flash my truck until I got to know it a little better (and maybe never if it didn't have any problems).

I had mine flashed in Sep-Oct? and I love it. I was having frequent hard starts but mine is a G56 trans, I did not think the auto's where having the problem?

the only thing I herd bad about any new flash was the back-up horn flash. I asked my dealer about it he said it was for the older auto's (04-05)???

just tell them not to do the back-up flash.

fto know the answer to that you need to know the ECM part number and check it for updates, you need a starscan or mobile and a dealership. i dont know if you can check the ECM with a downloader or equiv.

take it in you wont be sorry.

nothing worse then a long hard starting cummins (it should fire on the first crank) makes me feel like I am driving a ford!!!

I'm glad I had mine done.

There has been, even more recent then what the dodge info. site says. Last one for this came out Sept. '06 & is for the auto's as well as manuels. HTH

I had the Flash done for the hard starting and it didn't really do much. It still takes 2 cranks to start. Kind of embarrassing, but you get used to it. Of course, when you're at the dealer, it fires right up the first time, everytime

Where is the Dodge info site you speak of? I've been to the one at Geno's that lists all the TSB's but I haven't seen the latest flash fix.

Thanks,
Nav
