Fix for 4WD Linkage from shift lever to transfer case

went to put my rig in 4WD,,,, nothing???


Luckily, I crawled under the truck & found the linkage arm laying inside the skid plate?

How do I prevent re-occurence

Update, Fixed it, turns out all that holds the linkage in place is a rubber grommet on each end,,, mine were dry rotted so I guess the linkage just fell out and landed in the skid plate. I found them in dealer stock Dodge part# 118102050

or maybe the drawing# is 6166960-9

the label on the package was torn,,,

Anyway for a mere $11.00 a piece,,,and about ten minutes to press the new ones in and install the linkage I am back to 4WD capability. Going to safety wire the shifter linkage to the transfer case selector arm so I don't lose it

Do you have any idea what the OD of the bushings are? I'm going to build my own rod and cut my own bushings, mine came up missing also, whole thing is gone.

Just remove bushing, center linkage with masking tape in hole. Or use pieces if old bushing. Fill with polyurethane window sealant. Used to replace every 100k miles till I did this mod.
