Re:Filterminder

My filterminder read 35% at 100 miles, so being curious, I reset it. Since then it has not moved-even with a filter that looked like I had used it for a coffee filter. Just go on instinct now.

Re:Filterminder

I've got 21k kms (about 13k miles) on mine and like Kimber I reset mine a few times during the first few thousand as it read 1/3 used from the get-go. I've not had to reset it for a long time, so I opened up the air cleaner for a look-see and saw that the filter was doing it's job....it was black air side, but clean on the engine side.
I'll be changing mine this weekend, filter minder or not.

Filterminder = Worthless

Mine showed that it was 65% used from the day I drove it off the lot. I haven't given it a second look since.

Re:Filterminder

I changed my filter out at 12k and the minder said I had 35% left. However, it was so dirty I don't know how any air got thru at all.

Minder on every Ram I have owned has been questionable. I pay little if any attention to it. Just pull the filter at 12K and change it.

Re:Filterminder

My filter minder went to around 35% from day one. Then I installed a Scotty 3 and it immediately went to 100%. Reset it a few times and it still jumps to 100%. So now I just use it to plug the hole.

Re:Filterminder

That factory filter minder is laughable at best. I used mine to throw at the dog when he's doing something wrong

BTW, the absolute best filter minder on the market is your pyrometer. When you start seeing your WOT egts coming up past where they normally sit, the first thing you wanna check is the air filter.

Re:Filterminder

I have an early build truck, one with the numerical filter that actually moves. From day one, any time I hit 2,500 rpm the filter minder would pull down to 35%, get close to 3,000 rpm and it would drop to 65%. From the day I changed from a paper filter to an aFe drop in it hasn't moved. I suppose it was easier for DC to change the filter minder than recall or TSB its overly restrictive air filter setup.
