Hi all, I’m having an issue with my truck, 03 5.9 HO/ 48RE auto. When I go to start out the truck starts bucking like a wild horse. The tach will start jumping from idle to 2200 and back. This will keep happening until I take my foot off the pedal. It’s acting like I have a dead pedal. I’ve noticed that while this is happening, the circle around the gear indicator will flash on and off while it’s bucking. Sometimes it will run for a few hundred feet with the circle missing then it will begin again. I’ve noticed that while it’s bucking I get a puff of black smoke from the tailpipe. Any suggestions on what is causing this? I checked for codes and there were none.
