feels like my tranny is slipping!!

okay 2006 dodge ram, 2500, about 50K miles, smarty jr, automatic. While pulling my 5th wheel. I was climbing a small hill. Had cruise control on and Truck did not seem to have much power. felt real luggish. truck shifted down and started to hop. So i hit the brake to kick cruise off. I give it more gas and truck just starts to hop. like if the tranny is slipping. I have pulled alot bigger hills and had no problem. so i let off the gas and tried again and same thing. I could not get up above 45 mph. Thats with tow haul on. So i switched it to O/D off. And it seem to do better but still felt real slow. Still doing it even on the way home from the coast. Going to drop off the 5th wheel tonight, and i will see if its doing it. Dont know if i messed something up in the tranny. Any ideas would be great. And two days before this i went up I-5 about 250 miles and had no problems.

What setting are you running the Jr on? I know my tranny hates the higher settings....especially towing.

I always turn mine down to level 1 when I tow. I guess you hurt the torque converter.

i have it on the second setting. the tow one. think its 70hp. never even had it on the higher setting. Thing is never had a problem tell now. there is a sticky at the top of the forum about replacing something in the tranny. saying that your tranny will not shift right. thats what it feels like. Like im way to high of a gear and it lugging.

Sounds like a TC, mine did the same thing Empty and trying to pass a car, almost felt like my rail pressure was going from 20,000 to 000 back and forth, put a sun coast triple disk in and issue gone..
