The famous starting issue
Hi everyone,
Well I continue to chase my starting problem, thought I had it figured on several occasions but thats a big NO! My TRUCK IS AN EARLY 2003, stock other then fass fuel pump and cold air intake.
Haven't heard to much from those of you who have changed your injectors VS those of you who haven't. Just wondering what the results are like after changing them over, any difference starting?
I had a reflash done a while back, it would take a few extra second to fire after that, then it went back to the same old problem. It almost starts and stops almost like it back fires. The dealer said they put the computer onto the truck and tested the injectors, NO PROBLEMS. Of course when the truck was there all of the night it start the next morning no problem for the mech. The first start is still rough from time to time and occasionally starting the truck after sitting for 2 minutes it starts rough when the engine is hot.
I am puzzled, have left it for a while but don't want to cause any damage on the engine or pistons.
Has anyone found a solution yet?

What happened with the COV thing that sounded pretty promising. The one i spoke of a while back has been in and out of a few dealers, steal saying contamination. One said theyed fix for 9600.00 the next for 6700.00 and this lastest one in grennville said 4600.00 my buddy give them the go ahead. I was sick to hear this, all there going to do thay said is change the injectors. Remember the truck has less than 60,000 miles. i head the cost is 385 each thats 2310.00 i guess thier profit will also be 2300 that rap. Then they told him yesterday pick it up tomorrow it will only take a couple hours to do the job. I called him and told him to mentain the COV to them before the repair if posable i would have liked to try that myself first you know, but i just heard of it yesterday for the first time. If you go injectors i hope you dont have to pay so much will you try to do it yourself.
I was told by the dealer my injectors where fine a few weeks back when I dropped the truck off for a diagnostic. They reflashed the truck and it ran good for a while. The hard starting is back, doesn't matter if it's the first start or any number of starts during the day. This morning wa the coldest one so far this winter and it started like it was brane new? I am totally puzzled?
