Idle Problem On 2005
I have a 2005 Dodge 5.9L Cummins. It idles at the normal 800rpm but when I put it into drive with my foot on the break the idle goes up. If I take my foot off the break it lunges forward and seems that the rpm is about 1200 to 1500. I replaced the fuel control actuator and the pressure sensor and it fixed the problem for about two months but now the same problem is back. I have also changed the fuel filter. Can anyone help?

To me, it sounds like you have an issue with your Torque Converter. Someone on here that knows transmissions should be able to help you, but if you get no help, it probably needs to go to a transmission shop. To me, an automatic transmission works on the FM principal so I can't be of any more help.

thank you, I thought it was tranny related because I have no codes so it must be something mechanical I think.
